"Nicola has worked with me at both club and International level. She has always been committed to getting myself and team mates back on the ice after injury. I’ve had a few injuries over the past few years and without Nicola tirelessly working on my rehab and motivating to push myself, my injury lay off time would have been so much longer." Jonathon Weaver, GB and Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Club Captain

"I had been suffering with constant back problems for some time, after trying different types of treatment I had resigned myself to the fact that it was something I would have to live with. A friend suggested going to Elite Therapy and after one session my back started to feel an improvement. Nicola worked on my posture and core stability and gave me exercises to improve my mobility. My pain has reduced considerably and I have the confidence to be active now without the fear of my back seizing up. I can’t thank Nicola and Elite Therapy enough." TP, Coventry

"We tend to spend a lot of time sitting at our desks producing design work for our clients. As part of encouraging our guys to adopt the right posture and take breaks from the computer we asked Elite to come in and offer massage therapy and advice on an individual basis. This was very well received and we will definitely be doing it again" Paul Hartley - Pyramid Design

"I had been having back trouble for a number of years now - periodically it would flare up and I would come in for a few therapy sessions to manage the condition. A consultant has now determined that I require surgery to correct the condition. Joel has helped by taking a detailed holistic background history and developed a series of exercises to prepare me for the procedure and help aid the recovery process" AM, Leamington Spa
Joel Reflects on the GB U20s World Championships
Tuesday, 03 January 2012 00:00
On December 9th I went away with the GB U20s Ice Hockey team on what seemed to be the teams biggest challenge it had ever faced. Due to the success of last year's team the U20s had been promoted to Division 1a. This meant that we were rated 16th in the world and were going to compete against Norway (11th), Germany (12th), Belarus (13th), Slovenia (14th) and Austria (15th).
Although we had lost a lot of experience from last years squad I was hopeful that we would be able to bring energy and passion from a younger side. On the lead up to the tournament I acknowledged our youthfulness and tackled areas that I believed would help us attain our tournament goal (stay in Division 1a). Areas such as team tactics, mental toughness, goal setting and self belief.
Unlike the other teams we were playing against, we were limited with time that we had to play together but overall the spirits were high when we were preparing to leave for the World Championships in Germany. In our first gaem we played the first seeded team and lost 5-3, but we were hopeful with the result. In our next three games, our results only got worse losing by large margins which had a heavy impact on our team and individual confidence levels.
In our last game we played Austria and the winner would stay up and the loser would go down. The day before we had a good team bonding day and the camp was feeling positive. We jumped out quick, although shaky and went up one nothing. We were able to hold onto this lead until the second period until a simple mistake cost us a goal and a degree of inflated confidence. It didn't take long before we were down 3-1 and that was how the gaem ended.
It was a difficult experience but a positive one at the same time. It has highlighted the areas we need to work on as a nation if we are going to consistently compete at hat level and I belive it gave each and everyone involved with the team an experience that they will never forget.
Next year we will play in Division 1b and I will make it my interest to put things in place that will make us better prepared from the coaching staff right down to the players. I will therefore stay in touch with the players who will be returning to the age group as well as those who will be new to the team in order to ensure the outlook stays positive.
Look out Division 1b 2012!
